This week in the FinTech Ukraine: Semiconductor provider Renesas Electronics Corp. donated €1 million to the United Nations High Commission for Refugees for humanitarian efforts, and the Community Organized Relief Effort said it has launched a Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Cash Assistance Program in partnership with EML Payments Ltd.
Renesas Electronics Corp., a provider of advanced semiconductors, has donated €1 million to the United Nations High Commission for Refugees to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine, the company said.
Renesas said it has established a crisis response team and been in contact with its employees. It has made advanced payroll and supplemental pay available to Ukrainian employees.
In addition, a communication platform has been made on the company intranet, letting employees offer skills and support such as accommodation and translation.

Meanwhile, as more than 4 million Ukrainians are displaced by the war, humanitarian aid is urgently needed.
In response, the Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE) announced Wednesday (April 13) that it has launched a Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Cash Assistance Program in partnership with EML Payments Ltd., Mastercard, the Stichting Giustra International Foundation, Tommy Humphreys and the Parker Foundation.
CORE, a global crisis response organization dedicated to empowering underserved communities in crisis, was founded by actor Sean Penn and Ann Lee.
The charity and Mastercard have combined resources to foster a cash assistance program with prepaid cards.
Starting today, 2,500 cards pre-loaded with €150 ($163 million) are being distributed to refugees fleeing Ukraine to bordering countries.
