Western Union has upgraded it services for customers in Chile, allowing them to use both digital and physical channels for money transfers to more than 200 countries and territories, according to a Wednesday (July 20) news release.

The new offering is designed to give customers increased peace of mind by letting them send and receive cash in minutes using the Western Union ap or in person at 800-plus retailers throughout Chile.

“By giving customers additional ease and flexibility to move money into, outside of, and within Chile reflects our commitment and continued evolution of our best-in-class platform, while enabling them to send money when and however they please,” said Mauricio Garcia, who oversees the company’s business in South America.

“We look forward to providing our customers additional choice as we enhance our digital currency and retail capabilities in the months and years to come.”

Western Union says it is marking the occasion by giving way more than 1,000 prizes, including a new car and 45 motorcycles. Customers who send money either via the app or at a retail location between now and September are eligible.

In May, Western Union teamed up with and SuperGIROS to give Colombians more financial flexibility by adding Western Union’s cross-border global money movement and payments capabilities to every SuperGIROS retail location in the country.

The partnership gives people in Colombia more than 9,800 new locations where they can send and receive money, and brings the number of Western Union locations in the country to 17,000.

“In Colombia, remittances are critically important in helping ensure health and safety for those who receive them, especially in remote communities across the country,” said Claudia Reyes, Western Union regional director, Colombia.
