Sionic Mobile ION Commerce Engine Integrating With Oracle Hospitality

Sionic Mobile announced on Tuesday (Nov. 29) the integration of its ION Commerce Engine (ICE) with Oracle Hospitality MICROS POS solution.

In a press release, Sionic said the integration with Oracle Hospitality provides a cardless, three-digit checkout, enabling restaurants to quickly and securely process mobile payments. What’s more, with the integration, restaurants can instantly reward guests and connect with Mobile Rewards App users.

Sionic said Hojeij Branded Foods (HBF), the concessions operator in U.S.-based airports, is among the first food service companies to pilot the new integrated ICE-MICROS solution. It’s being piloted in select Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport restaurants. In the coming weeks, the company will expand the integrated service to other restaurants, POS systems and airport locations nationwide, Sionic said.

“We’re continually looking for ways to improve our guest experience,” said Regynald Washington, CEO of HBF, which operates 40 brands with 73 locations in 14 airports, in the press release. “Accepting digital payments from millions of Mobile Rewards App users, then thanking them instantly in their preferred miles, points or other rewards is very appealing.”

According to Sionic, once a successful mobile three-digit checkout happens, the guest using the Mobile Rewards App gets instant rewards in the reward currency they select. Users can earn and spend rewards at more than 100,000 retail and restaurant locations that are part of the Mobile Rewards Marketplace. Sionic Mobile said its cloud-based ICE payment and loyalty platform powers multiple mobile pay and loyalty apps, reaching more than 150 million consumers.

“Restaurants, especially airport eateries, must be able to quickly serve guests but still provide an exceptional service experience. Integrating our ICE platform directly with Oracle MICROS not only provides lightning-fast mobile payments processed by JPMorgan Chase but also leverages our proven security and fraud prevention tools,” said Ronald Herman, CEO and founder of Sionic Mobile, in the release. “We’ve designed this new solution to be the fastest digital checkout in the market, while rewarding guests instantly, which encourages repeat business and builds brand loyalty even in an airport environment.”
