U.S. Bank Gives SMBs MasterCard Business Network Access

U.S. Bank said Thursday (Feb. 4) that it is the first in the country that will be offering small business clients entrée into MasterCard’s Business Network through a website that offers those businesses tools to boost sales and glean knowledge.

The bank said that the network operates in conjunction with Payment Controls and that the linkage offers small business owners insight into “how, when and where their employees use business credit cards.”

In tandem with the launch, U.S. Bank has debuted three new business cards: U.S. Bank Business Edge Cash Rewards World Elite MasterCard, U.S. Bank World Elite MasterCard Company Card and U.S. Bank MasterCard Community Card. Through using the newer platform, with real-time data as it pertains to payments, business owners can place limits on cards that would be on the lot or even deny the use of corporate cards altogether. Approved transactions can be limited to a certain day of the week, total dollar amount or even to a merchant type. Business owners can also have push alerts, where they would get an email or text alerting them to the fact that a certain account has been used, perhaps at a specific location or even for a certain account.

Account holders across any, or all, of the three cards get access to a free mobile wallet and, through MasterCard EasySavings, a rebate program, can shop at participating merchants and get discounts, which will show up on bank accounts as discounts.
