Why Walmart Is Dodging Bullets In Oklahoma

Oklahoma, where the wind goes sweeping down the plains and the bullets go whizzing down the freeway.

It has been a strange week for Walmart truck drivers hauling goods along the route in Oklahoma.

Mostly because people keep shooting at them.

In one of the stranger news events of the week, six Walmart trucks reached their destination to make a startling discovery: the sides of their trucks were all shot up. Further investigation turned up that all six trucks had traveled the same strip of lonely Oklahoma highway.

Walmart does not seem to be a specific target, past having large trucks that are easy to hit. At least two other vehicles have also been shot at driving along a six-mile stretch of U.S. 75 just north of Tulsa.

The shootings all occurred in fairly rapid succession, with three trucks pegged Sunday and the other three shot between Monday night and Tuesday morning. No one was injured, and in some cases damage was not even noted by drivers until the bullet holes were discovered at delivery centers later.

The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
