Postmates is teaming up with the sports merchandising firm Fanatics for on-demand delivery of Los Angeles Rams-branded goods to fans ahead of the Monday night (Oct. 26) game, according to a report in

On-demand, no-fee deliveries will kick off at the team’s first Monday night National Football League (NFL) game against the Chicago Bears at SoFi Stadium, scheduled for 5:15 p.m. PT.

Postmates is the official mobile order delivery partner for the Rams. The Silicon Valley-based startup also signed with the NFL as a delivery partner.

Through kick-off time on Monday, fans can get delivery of a curated selection of branded gear from Fanatics. Jerseys, sweatshirts, hats and more will be available on the Postmates app in select areas in Los Angeles, California.

Postmates also recently signed up as an official delivery partner with Major League Baseball’s New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers. It also signed last month to be the official delivery partner for the NFL.

“Fans will be watching NFL football this season from their couch more than ever before, so teaming up with Postmates as the first official on-demand food delivery partner of the NFL was a perfect combination. We’re excited for Postmates to deliver game-day food favorites and special surprises to our fans’ doorsteps throughout the year,” Nana-Yaw Asamoah, vice president for business development at the NFL, said when the partnership was announced.

COVID-19 created the need for same-day delivery firms to move beyond restaurant food and groceries. The move is benefiting stores, customers and delivery apps alike and is anticipated to continue beyond the pandemic.

Uber announced in July that it was inking a deal to buy Postmates for nearly $2.7 billion in stock. The deal, which is expected to close in early 2021, will give Uber Eats a market share boost to 37 percent from a current 29 percent. Uber’s core ridesharing business has been crippled by the pandemic.
