Same-day delivery service Shipt announced in a Friday (Feb. 25) press release that it has launched partnerships with pharmacy chain Walgreens and convenience store 7-Eleven, marking more than 140 collaborations with retailers.

“Located on corners of nearly every major market in America, these two powerhouse brands are incredible complements to our marketplace, bringing customers even more variety and product categories while driving added convenience for each brands’ shoppers,” said Shipt Chief Business Officer Rina Hurst in the release.

7-Eleven Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer Raghu Mahadevan added in the release that the partnership will give shoppers access to “more than 3,000 7-Eleven products, including groceries, over-the-counter medicines, household goods and a range of food and beverage options, in as soon as an hour.”

According to Shipt — which was acquired by Target in 2017 — the partnerships increase its store coverage nationwide by more than 40% and represent the most stores added to its marketplace at one time, per the release.

The partnership with Walgreens will make more than 25,000 items available nationwide from more than 6,303 locations. The 7-Eleven partnership represents 6,450 locations, the release stated.

Last year marked one of Shipt’s largest service area expansions, with the company adding nearly 1,000 more store locations and more than 2 million households to its coverage area, according to the release. It was a first-time effort for the company, which had historically launched in one community at time or added a new merchant across the country.

In December, Shipt joined forces with digital commerce solution provider Wynshop (formerly ThryveAI) to allow local grocers to offer same-day delivery.

The collaboration has Shipt deliver orders made using grocers’ digital storefronts through Wynshop’s platform, with the aim of making it easier for local supermarkets to offer their customers the convenience of direct ordering combined with delivery in as fast as one hour.
