FinTech Airwallex Adds New Hires for Business Development, Crime Compliance

FinTech Airwallex is growing its U.S. team with two new hires: Ravi Adusumilli as SVP global head of partnerships and business development, and Jas Randhawa as global head of financial crime compliance, a press release says.

    Adusumilli comes with more than 20 years’ experience in tech. The release says his job experience includes working with Pinterest, where he led their global business development and partnerships, along with stints at Facebook and Netflix.

    His job will include helping Airwallex forge relations with partners in the ecosystem and access more growth.

    In addition, Randhawa has more than 15 years managing and building programs in the compliance space. He will lead the business’ financial crimes function. He used to work as head of compliance at Stripe’s U.S. division.

    He’s quoted as saying that compliance “is one of the fundamental pillars of running a successful FinTech business, and I am delighted to be joining such a talented and experienced international team.”

    Last year, Airwallex closed a funding round for $300 million, which came with an additional $100 million, giving the company a $5.5 billion valuation.

    The funding was led by Lone Pine Capital.

    The new funding, according to co-founder and CEO Jack Zhang, is going to help the company connect with even more companies, entrepreneurs and other partners.

    Airwallex also recently rolled out its payment services in Singapore, which will include its suite with digital payments, global account issuance, domestic and cross-border money transfers and multi-currency wallets.
