NCR and Stratacache Partner on Digital Menu Rollout

NCR

Enterprise technology provider NCR Corporation on Tuesday (March 1) announced a partnership with global digital signage and retail marketing platform Stratacache on software solutions that link to the NCR commerce platform, analytics and around-the-clock field service for restaurants.

“Digital signage is a powerful tool that goes beyond simply communicating a menu. It can create operational efficiency, personalize the guest experience and drive revenue,” said Dirk Izzo, president and general manager, NCR Hospitality, in the announcement.

With the partnership, “NCR is accelerating digital signage innovation and delivering solutions that create a competitive advantage to our customers, giving them more tools to run the restaurant,” Izzo said.

The partnership will help NCR “deliver agile dynamic campaigns and customized experiences to engage consumers,” the announcement says.

“Our partnership helps the restaurant industry leverage knowledge of the customer from prior visits, mobile or loyalty to empower personalization and concierge-level service across digital menu boards, kiosks and mobile application engagements,” Chris Riegel, Stratacache founder and CEO, said in the announcement.

“As restaurant operators face ongoing labor and supply chain challenges, technology, automation and smart digital menus are essential to reducing service times, improving sales results and minimizing challenging labor conditions,” he said.

The partnership, said Riegel, “ties incredibly innovative technology to the operational and service capabilities required to ensure customer success, with faster service times, more efficient labor and increased margins.”

NCR Corp. closed a deal for ATM operator Cardtronics in August, outbidding investment firms Apollo and Hudson Executive.

Cardtronics boasts 285,000 ATMs in 10 countries and is one of the biggest cash machine operators in the world. NCR, formerly known as National Cash Register and once owned by AT&T, makes ATMs and also does point-of-sale systems for retailers and restaurants, among other types of businesses.

Michael Hayford, president and CEO of NCR, said in a statement that Cardtronics aligns with its own platform, especially its “NCR-as-a-service” strategy. He said the Cardtronics platform connects customers in retail or bank businesses and capitalize on the trend of banks outsourcing.
