Global Digital Shopping - United Kingdom

The Global Digital Shopping Index: United Kingdom Edition examines how consumers’ shopping habits and preferences in the country are shifting amid historic social and economic change. It reveals how merchants can develop digital strategies to navigate the shifting retail landscape in the U.K. The report, a PYMNTS and Cybersource collaboration, is based on a survey of 2,044 consumers and 561 merchants in the U.K. and is part of a larger series examining four key markets around the world.

Key findings in the January study include:
  • 46 percent: Share of U.K. consumers that now prefer to do their shopping online
  • 50 percent: Portion of U.K. merchants that plan to invest in click-and-collect options
  • 35 percent: Share of U.K. shoppers that would be highly interested in using digital-first features
