For Disbursement Satisfaction, Skip The Gift Cards

For Disbursement Satisfaction, Skip Gift Cards

The way we pay and get paid is changing, and choice matters. To that end, found the latest Disbursement Satisfaction Index produced jointly by PYMNTS and Ingo Money, an overwhelming majority of consumers surveyed want speedy payments, preferably linked to their bank accounts. One method that seems to lead to dissatisfaction lies with gift cards, found the survey – so skip the plastic (even the digital kind).

Data:

72 percent: Share of consumers who state speed is important when receiving disbursements.

46.7 percent: Share of customers who want to get funds by direct deposit into their bank accounts.

15.3 million: Number of customers who received disbursements through gift cards, and did not choose that method.

10 percent: Revenue “leakage” of firms with poor billing operations, as cited by Gotransverse.

$12 trillion: Total market size for disbursements.
