McDonald’s and supermarket chain Merkur will test an NFC payment system developed by Austrian mobile network operator A1 and Paybox Bank in Austria, NFC World says.
Of note: the service is not based on EMV ‘chip and pin’ technology, NFC World says, nor does it utilize Visa’s PayWave or MasterCard’s PayPass offerings.
