As part of a new promotion from the wireless carrier, Verizon is offering up to 2GB of free data if customers use Android Pay at a retailer that accepts the mobile payments option. The customer can gain 1GB of free data for purchasing an item and can gain a second GB after the third purchase made via Android Pay.

Of course, not all Android phones work with Android Pay, so this could also be a play by Verizon to get more of its consumers to upgrade those older phones.

This particular promotion ends June 13, and the free data offer must be used by July 13 and is available to Verizon postpaid customers with The Verizon Plan or The MORE Everything Plan.

As pointed out by Verizon, Android Pay can be used at more than 1.5 million locations across the U.S., including anywhere where tap-and-pay payments are accepted. This includes major retailers like Macy’s, Peet’s Coffee, Subway, Trader Joe’s, Walgreens and Whole Foods.

Verizon also gave Android Pay a pretty big endorsement in its release about the promotion: “Android Pay provides a seamless, secure payment experience across a wide range of Android phones (KitKat 4.4 and higher). Simply unlock your phone, place it near a contactless terminal and you’re good to go. It’s that fast, that easy.”
