Micronesia’s Division of Procurement and Supply announced this week that government agencies have until September 15 to sign contracts for projects, issue requests for proposals and requests for purchase of supplies and equipment.
The deadline is made every year, Procurement and Supply Director Herman S. Sablan told Marianas Variety, explaining that it gives the division enough time to process purchase requisitions, bids and job contracts before the end of the fiscal year.
However, many contracts won’t meet the deadline because of protests filed by losing bidders.
“One of these is the $2.8 million contract for the operation of the Marpi landfill which the Department of Public Works put on hold after SARS Success International Corporation filed a protest,” reported the news source.
