CRV Says ‘F*CK Trump’ In Online Piece

An increasing number of venture capitalists are getting fed up with Donald Trump and his bid for the White House, with many turning to the press, social media and everywhere else to blast the controversial candidate.

The latest effort comes from CRV, the early stage venture firm, which posted an open letter about its feelings about Trump. In the piece, which carries the headline “F*CK Trump,” the VC firm takes issue with his stance on immigration, arguing entrepreneurship begins and ends with a “powerful immigrant spirit.”

The firm went on to say entrepreneurship is about “knocking down walls, moving people toward a common goal and creating the unthinkable from scratch with small odds of winning. That is what makes the U.S. great and what drives meaningful innovation and change. Donald Trump’s anti-immigration statements are diametrically opposed to the core values of entrepreneurship.” The venture capital firm said it has had enough and rejects Trump’s candidacy for president of the United States.

“CRV is a firm of immigrants. Our nine partners come from seven countries and speak eight different languages, hailing from Greece, India, Iran, Israel, Turkey, Venezuela, as well as the United States,” the letter went on to say. “We are united by a shared immigrant spirit that makes us better investors and better partners to entrepreneurs. About 50 percent of the teams we back are made up of people like us  —  entrepreneurs who have come to the U.S. to create meaningful change.”

To say Trump’s bid for the top job in the country is controversial would be an understatement. The ever-controversial candidate launched his campaign on the idea of building a wall between the U.S. and Mexico and, since then, has taken a questionable stance on immigration. His rhetoric, which ebbs and flows based on the polls, has raised the ire of all sorts of people, including many in his own party. Business leaders, technology executives and a host of others have rejected his ideas and him as the next leader of the U.S.
