Another month has passed, so the streaming apps are ready for their close-up.

As happens every 30 days or so, PYMNTS’ Provider Ranking of Streaming Apps puts the spotlight on these famous apps and gauges their star power based on such factors as channel coverage, up-to-date downloads, monthly average users, sessions per user and average session length.

The latest episode has some compelling plot twists. Among them are a leader that now has the top spot to itself, a newcomer that has joined the Top 10 and three tied scores that have made room for 13 apps in the Top 10.

Now, let’s tune in to this month’s show.

The Top 5

Having the top billing all to itself after sharing it last month is Netflix. This app takes the lead with a score of 91.

Last month’s co-star, YouTube, has slipped to the runner-up spot and shares it with Disney+, which was here last month. Each app has achieved a score of 89.

Maintaining its place at third in the rankings is Spotify. With a score of 85, this app is four points behind those right in front of it.

Also holding onto its position in this cast of characters is Amazon Prime Video, which earned a score of 83 this time.

Just one point behind that is Pluto TV. It retains the No. 5 spot in this solar system with a score of 82.

The Top 10

There’s a familiar name in sixth place, too, as Hulu keeps its position with a score of 78.

There’s another tie at No. 7 between two apps that have each scored 73. Amazon Music was here last month, while CBS — Full Episodes And Live TV has landed here after dropping one spot since last time.

Next up is Twitch, which is ranked eighth as it was last time with a score of 70.

This month’s newcomer to the Top 10 is French online music streaming service Deezer, which joins this elite group with a score of 63.

At No. 10, there’s a third tie. Funimation was here last month, and now shares this spot with iHeart: Radio, Music, Podcasts. Each has earned a score of 62, closing out the Top 10 of this month’s episode of the Provider Ranking of Streaming Apps.
