Lisa Featherngill to Head Planning for Wells Fargo’s Abbot Downing

Lisa Featherngill, a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner with 25 years of experience in tax and financial planning, has been named Managing Director of Planning for Abbot Downing. Abbot Downing combines two existing Wells Fargo businesses, Wells Fargo Family Wealth and Lowry Hill, to be rebranded in April, to serve the ultra high net worth market.

In addition to Financial Planning, Featherngill also leads Financial Administration, including services such as financial reporting and cash management. She reports to Anthony McEahern, head of Wealth Planning.

“Lisa is a highly credentialed leader who will help us increase our focus on multigenerational planning in the ultra high net worth market,” McEahern said. “She and her team will focus on traditional wealth planning, such as cash flow, investments, and wealth transfer. They also will partner closely with our Family Dynamics team to deliver on more qualitative issues such as legacy planning, family governance, decision making and family wealth education.”

Since joining Wells Fargo, Featherngill has worked as the Director of Wealth Planning for the Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic offices. A member of the American Institute of CPAs, she earned the Personal Financial Specialist designation and now chairs the PFS Credential Committee. Lisa will continue to be based in Winston-Salem.

Featherngill joined First Union in 1996 as Regional Managing Director for the wealth management Financial Planning Group. Prior to joining First Union, Lisa worked 11 years at Arthur Andersen, where she was a senior manager in the Washington, D.C., Metro Area Personal Financial Planning and Family Wealth Planning practices.

Featherngill is a graduate of George Mason University. She serves on the board of the Winston-Salem Estate Planning Council, board of managers for the Jerry Long YMCA of Northwest North Carolina and is a member of the United Way Women’s Leadership Council of Forsyth County.
