The U.S. Supreme Court will not hear a case that would have decided whether online retailers should be mandated to collect state sales taxes in regions that they do not have physical offices, Reuters reported on December 2.
The case follows a ruling in the New York Court of Appeals from April. The court concluded that Amazon, as well as Overstock.com, could be required by a state to collect taxes for online sales.
