Tod’s Partners With Net-a-Porter To Launch Ready-To-Wear Online

Tod’s, a retailer known for its made-in-Italy shoes and luxury leather items, has agreed to sell its ready-to-wear collection through online retailer Net-a-Porter.

Tod’s, a retailer known for its made-in-Italy shoes and luxury leather items, has agreed to sell its ready-to-wear collection through high-fashion online retailer Net-a-Porter.

This partnership is the latest of a series of announcements regarding exclusive brand offerings on Net-a-Porter. Only last week, the online retailer announced that a 23-piece capsule collection by Dolce & Gabbana would be available exclusively on Net-a-Porter’s online store. Though Dolce & Gabbana is already selling its products through its website, this partnership will help the Italian brand to expand its reach and increase brand awareness.

And Italian companies are not the only ones who are trusting the online retailer with their exclusive items.

In June, Tom Ford turned to Net-a-Porter to launch its ready-to-wear collection online. That was a few months after Chanel’s six-piece jewelry collection, Coco Crush, was made available on Net-a-Porter’s website before it even reached brick-and-mortar stores.

And now, Tod’s has agreed to sell its ready-to-wear collections through Net-a-Porter for the next two seasons, according to Women’s Wear Daily.

This is the first time that Tod’s has made it possible to purchase its ready-to-wear online, since up until now they were only available at Tod’s brick-and-mortar stores and other authorized retailers. A variety of Tod’s shoes, bags, leather goods, luggage and accessories was already available on Mr Porter since fall 2012, while Net-a-Porter started carrying those items during the spring of 2014.

“Since launching Tod’s accessories last year on Net-a-Porter.com, we have seen an overwhelming response from our global customers who love the refined, understated style that distinguishes the Tod’s brand. I am confident the response to the ready-to-wear will be equally as positive,” said Sarah Ruston, vice president of global buying at Net-a-Porter, to Women’s Wear Daily.

Tod’s fall collection for women launched yesterday (July 29) on Net-a-Porter, while the men’s collection will be available on Mr Porter starting September 8.
