Comdata Adds Instant Bank Transfers To Fleet Payments App

FLEETCOR firm Comdata is enhancing its OnRoad solution, a combined fleet card and mobile app solution for fleet drivers and their managers.

A recent press release said Comdata has added support for Touch ID and Face ID to secure user logins, as well as for real-time bank transfers and peer-to-peer payments, though the company did not disclose exactly how those transfers are facilitated, or in what context they can be deployed for fleet drivers and managers.

“We recognize the financial challenges drivers face while being on the road, and we are constantly thinking about ways to improve OnRoad to alleviate those stresses,” said Comdata President of North American Trucking Greg Secord in a statement. “OnRoad continues to reach significant milestones and supports fleets and drivers in focusing on what matters most.”

In another statement, FLEETCOR North American Trucking Division Senior Vice President of Product and Innovation Justin King said the company is “committed to bringing the most advanced mobile technologies to fleets and drivers to help them stay focused on what matters most to their business — saving time and money while on the road.”

The OnRoad solution is described as a “dual-purpose” card for both company and driver purchases that are connected to a mobile app allowing drivers to manage funds while on the road. Launched last year, OnRoad currently has more than 10,000 daily users, the company said, while thee are more than 40,000 OnRoad cards in use.

Last year, Comdata also announced a collaboration with Uber Freight, enabling users of the latter’s mobile app to access fuel and maintenance discounts when they use the Uber Freight Fuel Card, powered by Comdata.

Comdata also integrated its Comchek Mobile solution for the trucking sector last year in an effort to digitize payments for repairs, driver advances and other transactions, while also tying that solution to its Comchek Mobile debit card.
