Global FinTech innovation company EedenBull has announced the opening of its first U.S. office in New York, a press release says.

With that, Melissa Sefic will be taking over as head of business North America for the company, where she’ll drive and manage the local U.S. part of EedenBull.

Prior to taking the post, Sefic worked with The Economist Group as SVP Head of Commercial Payments International.

EedenBull will put in place its strategy to give established banks in North America its commercial payment technology and Commercial Payments-as-a-Service (CPaaS) portfolio, in what the release says will “empower progressive-thinking banks to better service their SME and corporate clients.”

Nicki Bisgaard, CEO and founder of EedenBull, said the expansion and hiring of Sefic “underlines our global growth ambitions, as we’re now fully equipped to offer our deep payment industry experience and Commercial B2B Payment technology to the US banking community, and their SME and corporate customers.”

Bisgaard went on to say challenging market dynamics had combined with the pandemic to make it so that forward-thinking banks would have to adopt “secure and advanced payment technology freeing them up to add client value, gain a competitive edge and to sustainably grow.”

EedenBull also recently expanded to the Asia Pacific region in a partnership with Mastercard, in which Mastercard would support EedenBull’s product development and digital services, such as its commercial cards platform intended for banks looking to get into the region’s B2B payments market.

That announcement came after a European expansion to Oslo and Edinburgh, with a new digital program implemented to process spending and payments.

Some of EedenBull’s newer products include spend management platform Q Business, which helps to digitize cash and check processing.

In addition, EedenBull also teamed with National Australia Bank (NAB) on letting small and medium-size business (SMB) owners access EedenBull’s Q Business platform.
