Payroll Firm Check, Procare Team on Automated Child Care Center Product

Check, Procare Team on Child Care Center Product

Payroll-as-a-Service startup Check has partnered with Procare Solutions, which works in child care management software, in order to boost the way child care centers can pay their employees, according to a press release.

The partnership will use Check’s software to help Procare integrate payroll capabilities, the release stated.

The nature of the tie-up is crucial, according to the release, as child care was hit hard by the pandemic because services provided can only be provided in person. The numerous waves of COVID-19 had destabilizing effects.

Administrators have wanted to implement different payroll services for years, although the pandemic has slowed them down on that, too, the release stated.

The partnership will help Procare develop an automated way to take payments at child care centers, a product likely to be rolled out in early 2022, according to the release.

“Procare is a leader in the child care industry and is uniquely positioned to meet the needs of this community,” said Check CEO and Co-Founder Andrew Brown in the release. “That’s why we’re thrilled to be partnering with Procare to bring integrated payroll solutions to child care centers, taking one of the most time-consuming processes that a business performs off their plate.”

Procare CEO JoAnn Kintzel said in the release the idea is to make child care payments easier.

“We frequently hear from customers that they want to simplify paying their teams, and Check was the perfect partner for delivering on this mandate, enabling us to offer a one-stop-shop for our customers’ operational and administrative needs,” she said. “We’re excited to integrate Check’s technology into our platform to help us provide a child care-specific and efficient payroll offering, so our customers can get back to providing quality care to children.”

In other kid-related news, another innovation has been the introduction of an eCommerce platform from toy retailer Camp NYC called Present Shop, which enables young children to shop online. The way it works is that adults set a budget, and kids shop within that framework.
