Grocery delivery platform Gopuff has unveiled “Basically,” its first private label, according to a Tuesday (Jan. 18) press release.

The “Basically,” line will start with bottled water before moving onto essentials, such as cleaning products, batteries, paper products, cutlery and food storage, the release stated.

The label will also include “Basically, Amazing,” a line of snacks scheduled to launch in the next few weeks, with more products set to be introduced throughout the year, according to the release.

“After over eight years of delivering instant needs, we truly understand what our loyal customers look for in everyday essentials — insights that have enabled us to create product lines designed specifically for them,” said Gopuff Senior Vice President of Business Daniel Folkman in the release. “Gopuff has always been about fulfilling the evolving needs of the modern consumer, instantly and seamlessly. Basically, is a byproduct of that and another example of how we are uniquely positioned to show up for our customers.”

The announcement came on the same day that another delivery service, the “ultrafast” grocery platform Buyk, launched its own private label.

Gopuff said in the release it took “a unique approach to private label,” employing consumer trend data and surveys to develop products, flavors and pack sizes designed to meet its customers’ needs and tastes.

“For example, with nuts, instead of starting with the biggest sellers in the total market — traditional roasted and salted varieties — Gopuff opted to go straight for big and bold flavors, such as Habanero BBQ Almonds and Everything Seasoned Cashews, because that’s what we know our customers love,” the company said in the release.

Founded in 2013, Gopuff delivers convenience store items, including alcohol, COVID-19 testing kits and other essential products, in under 40 minutes. In November, the company announced it was expanding into London and nine other cities in the U.K., with the aim of having a presence in 33 locations by the middle of this year.
