WooCommerce Launches Payment Services In Spain, Italy, France And Germany

WooCommerce, a WordPress eCommerce plugin, has rolled out payment services for four new countries, a TechRadar report says.

Businesses in Spain, Italy, France and Germany will now be able to access the solution and manage payments from their store dashboard.

In addition, the firm has rolled out further support for multi-currency solutions, where customers will now be able to shop in any of the 135 currencies supported by WooCommerce, an upgrade from previously when merchants had to use a plugin to access other currencies.

WooCommerce CEO Paul Maiorana said, “By expanding our availability to even more markets and adding further functionality, we are continuing to establish WooCommerce Payments as the premier payments solution globally.”

In addition, the company said that offering new local payment methods would allow companies to expand their reach with new tools.

WooCommerce has also recently expanded into other English-speaking countries, including the U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

WooCommerce is free to install, and the report says it will be available in more countries soon.

Google recently announced that WooCommerce merchants would soon be able to integrate their products with Google with no cost. The announcement had effects for the 4.4 million WooCommerce merchants, who will now be able to reportedly list their goods with few clicks. Google says the new upgrades will allow sellers to upload their products, create free listings and advertisement campaigns and track performance metrics. They will reportedly never have to leave the WooCommerce dashboard.

The integration was first announced in May and came along with a larger retail program allowing for merchants on GoDaddy and Square to access new services. Google had also previously announced it would be integrating with Shopify.

“With over 1 billion shopping sessions happening per day across Google, this integration will help merchants make more connections with shoppers who are eager to discover new brands,” the company said.
