Apple Re-Joins Black Friday, Deals And Details Not Yet Unveiled

“[Black] Friday can’t come soon enough” may be the sentiment many big-box retailers are feeling, but it’s the exact slogan Apple is touting as it re-joins the big shopping day after famously taking a pass last year.

With a new, teasing web page, Apple is promoting its own Black Friday, enticing shoppers with free two-day shipping and to head to the Apple Store app and contact local stores for extra details, including store hours. As for what the Black Friday deals are, that’s yet to be disclosed.

Last year, Apple opted out of the big shopping day and announced its decision by underscoring that the decision was part of its overarching plan to be good to its employees.

This year, the company said it is expanding its store hours — varying by location — as it expects higher foot traffic.

The free shipping benefit will only be available for those purchases made before 5 p.m., but it’s not clear as to what specific time zone. Additional delivery options may be available through Postmates, which Apple recently announced a partnership with for certain markets.

Apple jumping back into Black Friday may be an important change from last year, but the company recently released its earnings, which included a lower-than-usual number of smartphone purchases. Analysts are also watching to see how holiday sales will play into the new Macbook computers.
