German Men’s Shopping Service Outfittery Raises $22 Million In Funding

Outfitters, the German-based men's styling startup, has raised $22 million in funding.

Outfittery, the German styling service for men’s clothes, has raised $22 million in a funding round led by the venture capital firm Octopus Ventures, according to TechCrunch.

In total funding, Outfittery has now raised $59.81 million from 12 investors over five rounds. The men’s clothing startup says it expects to use the cash to improve its customers’ shopping experience.

Outfittery, founded by Anna Alex and Julia Boesch in 2012, says that it operates in eight countries and has about 400,000 clients.

Outfittery will continue its “mission to revolutionize the shopping experience for men … in a world where clients are faced with way too many options while shopping,” founder Boesch told TechCrunch.

Founded by Boesch and Anna Alex in 2012, the startup claims now to have 400,000 clients, in eight countries.

It is interesting to note that much of this funding comes from the London and New York-based Octopus Ventures – in addition to the so called “U-Start Club,” which incorporates several Italian investors. In a post-Brexit world, with the U.K. now facing the threat of leaving the European Union for good, will more and more English investors elect to put their funds in European or German-based startups or companies?
