Onbe Promotes Tracy Monson to Chief Product Officer

FinTech Onbe today named Tracy Monson chief product officer, promoting her from her previous position of senior vice president for product.

Monson, according to the company, will oversee the company’s product team and its complete product roadmap. She will report directly to Chief Executive Bala Janakiraman.

“I am delighted to welcome Tracy to the executive leadership team,” Janakiraman said in a prepared statement. “As we expand our disbursements product line, Tracy’s high energy, personal drive and perspective formed by a deep understanding of Onbe’s clients, their needs and our current and planned product capabilities will be a key factor in our success.”

Onbe’s offerings let customers offload some of the work connected with business-to-consumer financial disbursements. The company has offices in London, Chicago and Philadelphia.

Janakiraman recently spoke with PYMNTS about the need for a range of product offerings for payment disbursement. He stresses that it isn’t enough to deliver a great experience to recipients — it’s equally imperative to make the process as easy and flexible for the company sending the payments.

Monson previously worked as chief product officer and chief marketing officer at daVinci Payments, and vice president of client operations at Swift Prepaid Solutions, according to Onbe. Both of Monson’s prior entities now are part of Onbe.

“I’m excited to work with Bala and the executive team to take Onbe through its next phase of growth,” Monson said in a prepared statement. “And I am proud to be part of a company that supports women and mothers in all levels of leadership. Careers are a marathon, not a sprint, and I’m looking forward to this stage of delivering value to our customers and our teams.”

PYMNTS noted the increasing role of female executives and entrepreneurs in the banking and payments industry in the The Female Entrepreneurs And Technology Playbook.
