PayPal Names SVP Gabrielle Rabinovitch to Interim CFO as Blake Jorgensen Takes Medical Leave

PayPal Executive Vice President (EVP) and CFO Blake Jorgensen will be taking a leave of absence for health reasons, a press release said.

Instead Gabrielle Rabinovitch will be acting CFO and EVP for the time being. Rabinovitch is currently Senior Vice President, Capital Markets, Investor Relations and Treasurer for the company.

PayPal CEO and President Dan Schulman said in a note to employees that Jorgensen was addressing a treatable medical condition.

“Blake has been fully immersed in serving the company during his first months as CFO,” he wrote. “We are looking forward to Blake returning to his role following his recovery.”

Schulman added that Rabinovitch did a “tremendous job” as interim CFO and the company had full confidence in her now.

“While we will all miss Blake during his leave, wellness is one of our core values and I believe deeply that doing what is needed to prioritize health and wellness must always take precedence,” he wrote. “I know I speak for our entire PayPal community in wishing Blake a full recovery and good health.”

PYMNTS wrote recently that PayPal has had other shake-ups in its employee roster lately, including appointing a new EVP, Chief Product Officer (CPO) in John Kim, who used to work for Expedia.

Kim succeeded Mark Britto, the current CPO, who has plans to retire at the end of the year.

Kim’s job will involve leading the teams for consumer and merchant product and engineering, helping out the position for the company as a “leader in digital payments and commerce” around the globe.

At Expedia, Kim held the position of President of the company marketplace for a year. His job there involved working on overseeing strategy, product, tech and operations for various businesses such as lodging, air, car, cruise and activities.
