Wix to Add AI-Powered Tools for Building and Managing Websites

Wix will soon launch several artificial intelligence (AI)-powered tools for building, designing and managing business websites.

The upcoming features that will soon join the company’s platform for managing a digital presence include an AI Site Generator that will instantly build a website based on the user’s descriptions and then provide integrated tools that allow the user to further customize it, Wix said in a Monday (July 17) press release.

“We are fully committed to bringing our users fully integrated innovations, such as the AI Site Generator, that have excellent user experiences to ultimately drive forward the next generation of website creation,” Wix Co-founder and CEO Avishai Abrahami said in the release.

Together with the AI Site Generator, Wix will soon release an AI Assistant Tool that will streamline day-to-day management tasks and suggest improvements based on site trends, an AI Page and Section Creator that will add new pages to a website based on the user’s description and an Object Eraser that will help users manipulate images, according to the press release.

These new AI-powered tools will join those already offered by Wix, which include features that generate text and domain names; create layouts, images and video trailers; and deliver product recommendations to customers, the release said.

“These new tools leverage the strength and dedication of our Data Science team, who have been leaders in integrating the power of AI and delivering it directly to Wix users,” Abrahami said in the release. “We’re on the edge of something truly amazing, and we will keep advancing our offerings as AI technology progresses to enable users to grow their businesses and have success with more efficiency and creativity than ever before.”

These new features are part of a wave of AI-powered tools being developed to help merchants reach their customers.

For example, on Wednesday (July 12), eCommerce platform Shopify said it will soon launch an AI-powered chatbot assistant called Sidekick that will be designed to help merchants with any queries related to their stores, such as sales and order trends.

A day earlier, on Tuesday (July 11), Salesforce said it will be raising the price of some of its products after adding new features like AI Cloud, which delivers real-time generative AI experiences across applications and workflows within the platform.
