Japan’s JCB has begun credit card issuing operations in Sao Paulo, Brazil, American Banker notes.
JCB began operating in South America in 1985, the report says. Today, roughly 1 million Brazilian merchants, along with most merchants in Argentina and Uruguay, accept payment from JCB cards. The issuer’s acquirer partners include First Data Argentina and VisaNet Peru.
