BOA Submits Biometric ATM Patent Application

Bank of America has applied for an ATM patent that would include a biometric security scanner, ATM Marketplace reported on November 13.

    The patent calls for a “fingerprint scanner relating to…biometric information input.” Bank of America’s application includes a possible sequence of actions taken by the ATM user that would provide secondary biometric data in order to access the terminal.
