Payments and financial services platform Fiserv is launching online ordering and delivery for Clover point-of-sale (POS) restaurant partners, including direct menu management, payment processing, and reporting, all via the Clover platform.

“When it comes to online ordering and food delivery, both customers and restaurants appreciate having a variety of options,” Jeff Dickerson, Head of Clover at Fiserv, said in a press release on Thursday (Nov. 11).

“Clover Online Ordering with Delivery offers an additional way for restaurants to meet the demand for food delivery services with cost-effective and flexible pricing options,” Dickerson added.

Launched in 2012 and headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, Clover is a cloud-based POS platform that works on the Android OS. The startup was acquired by Fiserv in 2019. Fiserv was founded more than 35 years ago and is headquartered in Brookfield, Wisconsin and provides payments and financial services to some 1.4 billion companies worldwide and 5 million global merchant accounts.

“Consumers’ growing appetites for delivery of restaurant food have led a growing number of small and independent restaurants to evaluate their long-term options for supporting this type of service,” said Don Apgar, director of the Merchant Services Advisory Service at Mercator Advisory Group.

“A solution that provides restaurant operators with greater control enables them to be much more competitive in today’s market, while also minimizing the costs of offering food delivery,” Apgar added.

Clover Online Ordering with Delivery is intended to assist restaurants with upping order volume and revenue by meeting customers’ desires to have food delivered doorstep or picked-up curbside. Everything is processed on Clover’s dashboard, from payments and ordering to menu management and reporting.

The introduction of Clover Online Ordering with Delivery builds on its additional delivery integrations, including direct integration with Grubhub.
