Credit Union Innovation Index: A 360 Degree Look at What's Driving Credit Union Innovation

The Credit Union Innovation Index, a PYMNTS and PSCU collaboration, explores the relationships between CUs, their members and the FinTechs that serve as payments innovation solutions providers. Our analysis considers data from more than 3,800 financial consumers, CU leaders and FinTech executives, providing a comprehensive overview of the market forces driving CU innovation in the digital age.

KEY FINDINGS IN THE STUDY INCLUDE:
  • 51 percent: Portion of CU members who banked with CUs because they liked their prices
  • 58.4 percent: Share of members who were “extremely” satisfied with their CUs
  • 51 percent: Portion of CUs that cited compliance as an impediment to innovation
