According to American Express and Visa, current cardholders who already have their cards on file with iTunes, can conveniently select their credit or debit card from their account as their default to start making purchases via Apple Pay. If not, Apple Pay clients can use the iPhone’s iSight camera to capture their card information or just simply input their information manually.

It’s important to note that the first card entered into the Apple Pay platform becomes the default form of payment. But users do have the option to modify this via Passbook if needed.

Users will also have the option to real-time account details via Apple Pay, even purchases made with the physical card.

For users who had concerns about losing out on rewards associated with their cards, American Express addressed the issue via a page they recently published, explaining the details and benefits to Apple Pay and even provided all the details on how to setup the payment system. It was made clear that American Express cardholders will be able to receive the same rewards and other perks that usually come with the credit card when using the same card via Apple Pay.
