Shopify Launches Global ERP Merchant Program

Multinational eCommerce company Shopify is partnering with a series of enterprise resource planning (ERP) providers to provide direct integrations into the Shopify App Store, allowing for seamless connections between workflows and more data-driven decisions.

Shopify says more than 10,000 merchants use Shopify Plus to manage their volume and complexity, including Allbirds, Heinz, Schwinn and Lord & Taylor. The new Global ERP Program will give them a centralized system that connects their commerce platform to financial and inventory data.

Through the program, merchants will have access to a suite of apps that are directly integrated with Shopify, removing the need to rely on third-party implementations to connect ERP resources. Merchants can immediately connect their ERP solutions for NetSuite, Infor, Acumatica and Brightpearl to their Shopify stores, and an integration with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central will be available in early 2022.

“At a time when merchants need to harness data everywhere to transform the shopping experience, we’re excited to connect data between ERP and commerce,” Charles Lamanna, corporate vice president of Microsoft Business Applications and Platform, said in a news release. “Innovation begins with data-fueled insights, and more connected operations will help merchants take the industry into the future.”

Mark Bergen, vice president at Shopify, said in a statement that the Global ERP Program demonstrates the company’s dedication to supporting enterprise merchants. “At Shopify, we support businesses during all stages of their journeys, from first sale to full scale,” Bergen said. “Regardless of their size, maturity or complexity, merchants can thrive and grow with confidence on Shopify.”

The Global ERP Program is Shopify’s latest move to round out its suite of services for merchants, which also includes Shopify Payments, Shopify Shipping, Shopify Capital and Shopify Fulfillment.

“We are here to make it easier for anyone with an idea and ambition to launch a business,” Shopify President Harley Finkelstein said earlier this year. “Entrepreneurship is thriving, and trends like omnichannel shopping and direct-to-consumer selling offer even greater opportunities.”
