The collaboration is designed to bridge “digital assets, traditional finance, and real-world commerce at a global scale,” the companies said in a news release provided to PYMNTS Monday (June 29).

“While enterprise stablecoin usage continues to accelerate globally, governments, enterprises, payment networks, and AI-driven commerce platforms are increasingly seeking programmable payment infrastructure that can bridge digital assets with real-world commerce,” the release said.

“The innovation goes far beyond treasury management or even enabling consumers to spend stablecoins at retail locations. Instead, it unlocks true ‘programmable money’ with embedded controls, rules, and purpose-driven utility — requiring both programmable settlement and programmable spending controls.”

Geoswift and SKUx argue they are uniquely suited to accomplish this by pairing Geoswift’s global payment network, stablecoin settlement capabilities, liquidity support and compliance infrastructure with the multi-patented offers platform and extensive item-level partner network offered by SKUx.

SKUx’s SKUPay technology, the companies added, is already embedded in roughly half of America’s major grocery big-box point-of-sale systems, “unlocking a significant new category of merchant payment infrastructure.”

The companies also say the partnership addresses an unmet need for agentic commerce, as there is still a gap in validating automated agents’ purchases. The collaboration provides “the specific item-level guardrails” needed to securely and transparently accept automated, programmable purchases, the release said.

“Stablecoins have solved for programmable settlement. SKUx and Geoswift are now solving for programmable spending,” said Raymond Qu, founder and CEO of Geoswift. “Together, we are creating the infrastructure that enables digital assets, AI agents, enterprises, and consumers to transact  securely in the real economy at global scale.”

“By anchoring Geoswift’s global liquidity and compliance engine directly into our platform infrastructure, we are transforming how the world views digital assets at the point of sale,” added Bobby Tinsley, SKUx’s co-founder and chief executive.

“This isn’t just about enabling payments — it’s about bringing  unprecedented item-level intelligence and security to the next generation of global commerce, including the rapidly emerging world of autonomous AI agents.”

The new partnership comes at a time when the stablecoin industry seems to be shifting from consumer payments to “the invisible infrastructure through which global capital moves,” as PYMNTS wrote last week.

The competitive battleground is moving to settlement, the report said. Instead of asking how consumers might make everyday purchases with stablecoins, the industry seems focused on lessening the time “between transaction and finality across wholesale finance, treasury operations, cross-border liquidity management and foreign exchange.”

“The opportunity is measured less in retail payment volume than in the trillions of dollars that move daily through correspondent banking networks, securities markets and corporate treasury systems,” the report added.
