New Insurance App Provider Ranking Conveys A Sense Of Safety

InsurTechs are all the rage, and why shouldn’t they be? Safety, security, and protection all in the palm of one’s hand, doing smart things in new ways to save money and be on guard.

This inaugural edition of PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Insurance Apps features the marquee names as we would expect in such a listing. But the app world likes to surprise us, and it’s no different in the insurance sector where (almost) everybody wants to be a lizard with an accent.

The Top 5

Speaking of geckos, they may appear with “cavemen” when discussing the cryptic ad strategy associated with No. 1, the GEICO Mobile — Car Insurance app. At No. 2 is powerful Progressive, with the stalwart State Farm app at No. 3, and “the good hands people” and their Allstate Mobile app snagging the No. 4 chart position this very first time around.

Completing the Top 5 in this maiden voyage of PYMNTS Provider Ranking of Insurance Apps is USAA Mobile coming in at No. 5.

The Top 10

Cool to see the Lemonade Insurance app appear at No. 6 with its “bots not brokers” pitch, followed at No. 7 by the Liberty Mutual Mobile app, with torch held high.

Among the first app-based plays in InsurTech was Esurance Mobile, whose app grabs the No. 8 chart position. Right behind at No. 9 is the Jerry.ai: Car & Home Insurance app that compares quotes fast from over 40 different insurers.

Finishing out the inaugural Provider Ranking of Insurance Apps in the Cover — Insurance in a Snap app, which nails No. 10. Until next we meet, keep paying those premiums.
