Taster Raises $37 Million To Expand Delivery-Only Restaurant Brands

Taster, which is headquartered in the United Kingdom, has landed a $37 million cash infusion from a number of outside investors. Heartcore Capital, Battery Ventures, LocalGlobe and Octopus Ventures were reportedly among the investors. Taster runs five delivery-only brands. The London-based firm claimed it delivered a million meals in 2020.  “The food category in general is barely online,” Taster Founder Anton Soulier told CNBC. “It’s like about 10 percent. When you look at other industries, such as travel, it’s like 60 percent.”

Oura Health Looks At Potential $800 Million Valuation

Finnish firm Oura Health Oy, which makes technologies to monitor sleep, physical activity and other kinds of well-being, is reportedly in discussions with investors in regard to a potential fundraise that would value the firm at $800 million. Oura notched $28 million from Google’s Gradient Ventures, Forerunner Ventures and Square in 2020. The global wearable technology industry was valued at $37.1 billion in last year according to a published report, and it is anticipated to expand to $104.4 billion by 2027.

TravelPerk Raises $160 Million Series D To Accelerate Global Growth

TravelPerk, the global travel management platform, announced on Thursday (April 29) that it has landed $160 million in Series D debt funding and equity to power the next phase of its global growth. The company intends to harness the funding to bolster its presence in Europe and the U.S. and to concentrate on product innovations. “Over the last 12 months, we’ve been constantly innovating to address the changing needs for travelers navigating the complex travel environment during COVID, and kept growing as a company during one of the worst crises the industry has ever seen,” TravelPerk CEO and Co-Founder Avi Meir said in an announcement.
