The company’s shares reached a record $334.04 in intraday trading, lifting its market cap to $4.03 trillion for the first time, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday.

Alphabet became the fourth firm to hit the $4 trillion milestone, following Apple, Microsoft and Nvidia, according to the report. Apple and Microsoft have since seen their market caps dip to $3.8 trillion and $3.6 trillion, respectively, per the report.

The WSJ attributed Alphabet’s gains in part to the Monday announcement that Apple selected Google’s Gemini AI model to power the next version of its Siri chatbot.

Alphabet has also made other gains in the field of artificial intelligence, including the launch of Gemini 3, growth in the number of Gemini monthly users from 450 million last summer to 650 million today, and the AI model’s capabilities in a wide range of applications, according to the report.

Reuters reported Monday that Google’s gain around AI put investors’ concerns to rest and put the company back among the front-runners in the AI race.

The report added that Alphabet’s stock increased about 65% in 2025 and outpaced those of the other members of the Magnificent Seven group of tech companies.

PYMNTS reported in November 2025 that Alphabet’s Search-and-other advertising revenue rose about 15% in the third quarter, defying expectations that generative AI systems would erode its core business.

When Google and Apple announced their collaboration involving Gemini and Siri on Monday, they said that the next iteration of Apple’s foundational models will be based on Google’s Gemini models and cloud tech and that the models will help power features for Apple Intelligence.

“After careful evaluation, Apple determined that Google’s AI technology provides the most capable foundation for Apple Foundation Models and is excited about the innovative new experiences it will unlock for Apple users,” the companies said in a joint statement.
