Google Cloud, Coinbase Team to Serve Web3 Developers

Google Cloud and cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase have joined forces with the goal of better serving Web3 developers. Coinbase chose Google Cloud as a strategic cloud provider to develop advanced exchange and data services. The company said it will use Google Cloud’s computer platform to “process blockchain data at scale, and enhance the global reach of its crypto services by leveraging Google’s premium fiber-optic network.”

Grubhub Expands College Robot Delivery to 170K More Students

Food ordering and delivery firm Grubhub is working with autonomous delivery services company Starship Technologies to offer robot delivery at college campuses. Grubhub service is already available at the University of Kentucky, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), Wayne State University, Southern Methodist University and Fairfield University, and will be introduced at several other campuses this year.

New PayPal Zettle Terminal Shakes up and Wakes up US Mobile POS Space

PayPal is bringing its PayPal Zettle Terminal mobile POS solution to American retailers with a feature to designed to make it an attractive checkout tool for small businesses. The company said the tool “comes with the Zettle point of sale app pre-installed, and small businesses will get an integrated solution that not only helps them accept a range of fast and secure payments in-person — including credit cards, contactless, digital wallets and PayPal and Venmo QR Codes — but also helps them manage sales, inventory, reporting and payments, all in one place.”

PostePay, Mastercard Usher in RTP Solution in Italy

PostePay and Mastercard are collaborating to launch a request-to-pay solution in Italy to give businesses more control and flexibility over bill payments and cash flow. The tool offers billers the ability to request payments online in real time, while the payer can choose to accept or deny the request, and then move on to the payment method.

Worldline Enables Indian Payment Methods RuPay and UPI in Europe

French payment firm Worldline has teamed with the international arm of the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to expand the acceptance of Indian payment methods in Europe. Worldline will bring more convenience for Indian customers in European markets by letting merchants’ POS systems accept payments from India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and RuPay.
