If you’re looking for mobile order-ahead apps, we hope you’ve left room for a second serving. In this month’s edition of the PYMNTS’ Provider Ranking of Mobile Order-Ahead Apps, 15 contenders have earned a place in the top 10.
On the menu are apps ranked using a proprietary combination of publicly available information plus app usage data to which PYMNTS has access. Now, let’s dig in.
The Top Five
Topping the list is Domino’s Pizza. This app was first in the rankings last month and returns to that spot with a score of 97.
Right behind, with a score of 96, is Taco Bell. This app has moved up four spots in the rankings since last month and now rests in second place.
Next, we have our first tie of the month. The Dunkin’ and Panera Bread apps, which shared second place last month, now share No. 3. Each achieved a score of 95.
At No. 4, we have Pizza Hut. This app held the same spot in the rankings last month and is back again with a score of 92.
Right behind, there’s a triple-decker. Three mobile order-ahead apps — Burger King, Chipotle and Starbucks — share fifth place, with each earning a score of 91. Compared to last month, Chipotle has moved up two spots in the rankings, Burger King is unchanged and Starbucks has slipped down two spots.
The Top 10
The portions are generous at No. 6 too. Here, Chick-fil-A, Papa John’s Pizza and Wingstop share a spot in the rankings with tie scores of 90. Compared to last time, Chick-fil-A has stepped up one level, Papa John’s Pizza has jumped up two and Wingstop has flown up three.
Just behind with a score of 89 is McDonald’s. This app has inched up a level in the rankings since last time.
Also gaining a spot is Sonic. This app has moved up from ninth place to eighth.
Returning to the top 10 after a one-month absence is Sheetz. This app has earned the No. 9 spot in the latest rankings.
Rounding out this month’s top 10 is another app that was absent last time. Shake Shack earns a spot in this elite group and is ranked tenth.
