Intuit To Power Google Glass Payments

Intuit’s GoPayment will power Google Glass’ payment functionality. Although a launch date is yet to be determined, the idea was borne out of a Google I/O conference panel discussion where Google Glass execs reported that payments would “make a killer app” for the device.

    The GoPayment app functionality will allow users to produce payments codes for merchants. The use cases, as described by a senior Intuit software engineer, Cindy Osmond, will allow consumers to “instantly see” balances before making a purchase.

    Osmond goes on to say, “Just like when we had to rethink desktop software for the mobile phone, we must now rethink mobile phone software for even smaller devices like Google Glass, watches [and] fitness bands.”
